For this assignment, I was tasked with taking a building and altering it and the environment to follow the theme desolate. Hallgrímskirkja is a church in Iceland that had this very unique and naturally powerful design.

      In order to convey the theme, I wanted this naturally powerful structure too be the highest point, quite literally on a pedestal. The flat mesa like environment was chosen to contrast the shape of the structure and to be inhospitable. I had experimented with having a battered army approaching however, having one individual against the looming structure was a much stronger design.
