The Brightest Burn the Fastest

Senior Thesis and Proof of Concept

A single-player detective game set in the hard boiled 1940s. Detectives will use their unique  perspectives and specialties to crack the case through interrogations and  their wits.

A man that works as a talent agent has lost his biggest star and the love of his life. This woman has been missing for weeks and the police are of no help. He admits to being caught up with some unsavory people and is fearing for the worst. Being unable to turn to anyone else, he begs for the help of an unseeming detective agency located on the wrong side of town.

About

I am personally working on the game with some help here and there from my peers and critique from professors.

Key Features

Visuals: Players are dropped into a strange alternate, version of the 1940s. Many of the aesthetics are based on noir film.

Unique Perspectives: Each player experiences the game as one of four professionals: Medical, Monetary, Social or Combat. These classes visually and physically impact the game and how they play.

Mechanics: Players are able to explore the environment as well as interrogate suspects in order to gain and analyze information. Each little clue brings them one step closer to understanding the big picture.
